Notts County Council are looking to make £154 million budget cuts. As staff and trade unionists we need to be asking...........
• Why is there a three year plan of cuts when the future is so uncertain?
• Have financial officers looked at a one year no cuts budget using reserves and borrowing?
• Where has the money gone that the council has generated through sections such as County Supplies
• How much is paid out in agency, consultancies and top salaries by the council?
£154 million of cuts will decimate jobs. It will attack services which give support to so many vulnerable people in our county. There will be a vast knock on effect, which will hit everyone’s lives in the county.
Notts UNISON is asking the Labour Group to join us in a campaign against the cuts.We can stop these cuts if we join together in a campaign to defend local jobs and services for our local communities.
