Punitive welfare reforms under the Tory lead coalition government, from the Bedroom Tax to the closure of the Independent Living Fund, the introduction of PIP and Work Capability Assessments means disabled people across the nation are being forced to fight for their basic rights, dignity, services and facilities.
What’s going on? How do the politics of disablement relate to struggles by other groups of citizens for inclusion and equality? How can we support each other?
This is a talk/discussion for disabled people and all those interested in social justice.
Registration will open at 6.30pm along with a selection of vegetarian/vegan snacks and refreshments. The event will be fully accessible with on-street parking, an induction loop, BSL interpreters and information in accessible formats.
